Almost 4th of July Century

Friday, June 30th, 2006

Starts at the boarded up McDonald’s on NY 5, one mile West of Chittenango.
0900 hours.
That’s right
It is a 9 a.m. start!
Ride details

Since it’s an hour later than the ‘traditional’ OCC start, I have heard that this means we’ll be leaving promptly.

Three options: 50, 75 and 100 miles of flat to rolling roads in Madison and Oneida Counties.
The two shorter routes would be considered flat, ‘flat as a pancake’ and only the long riders face a few rollers in the third quarter of the tour before it turns flat to the finish. That third quarter includes some v. nice, lightly traveled roads, twisting through shaded groves that we only traverse on this ride.

July means keep hydrated. First refueling stop is at mile 45.
[shorter for the shorter riders.]
This rider is hoping for a return to those days when a pack of thirty rode the first fifty miles to McConnellsville together then the hounds of the ‘Cuse were cut loose.
