I awoke this morning, looked at the outside thermometer…..15 degrees…..FIFTEEN. Still a little fuzzy, I was trying to remember if I was going xco skiing or was it really a bike ride ?

Driving over to the start in Chittenango I was hoping for 32 degrees. I really hate it when my water bottle freezes. My wish was answered and the temperature climbed all the way to 32 at the start.

Expecting maybe a few “radicals” to do the ride, I was pleasantly shocked when 28 cyclists signed in.

Everyone is back and accounted for. A grand total of 862 miles was accumulated. And that doesn’t include the extra mileage of numerous cyclists that pedaled, to and from, the start.

Brilliant sunshine, a little breezy in spots and 43 degrees at the finish.

Onondaga Cycling Club, what a hearty group !

Your humble Ride Leader,
Dick Matthews
