The last major set of volunteers for the club’s Tour de Syracuse is needed for the Crit on Saturday, May 22, at Upper Onondaga Park. If you’ve never been to a crit, it is a race on a short, closed course (in this case, about 1 mile in length). Crits are particularly exciting to watch as you’ll see a lot of the race. Plus, the park is quite pretty in early summer.

Course marshals are needed to be sure that pedestrians don’t wander onto the course or that cars drive past the barricades; this is of course a hazard for all concerned. They also report crashes. As on the map we have 9 spots for marshals. We’ll run two shifts: 9:00 to 2:00 and 2:00 to 7:00 on Saturday the 22nd. Lunch is included.

If you’re interested, or know someone who might be, please contact me. I need to know which shift you’re interested in and if you’d like a particular spot (let’s number them starting in the upper left and then go clockwise).
