It’s Zwift time again! So for all club Zwifters, the first ride will be Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at 6:00 p.m.  Rides will continue weekly, on Tuesdays, until the end of March. Everyone is welcome.  If you are interested, please email me directly at jpaulwede@yahoo.com for an invite. You also must follow me on Zwift Companion (an app for Apple and Android) in order for me to invite you. My profile name is Paul Voglewede OCC/HERD. Once I have invited you, the ride should show up in your scheduled meetups list. If you rode with us last year, please send me a new request as I am starting from scratch with a new list.

What is Zwift?

According to http://www.zwift.com, Zwift is an interactive training that is fun! For a $16/month fee, you can ride, race, and workout in different virtual worlds with people from around the globe.

What do I need?

A bicycle, a Zwift compatible trainer, and a personal computer/iOS/Android device with WiFi. Check the Zwift website for the necessary specifications. zwift.com is offering a Zwift Hub trainer and a one-year Zwift membership for $600. However, there are plenty of options out there for trainers, and you can even convert an old-school “dumb” trainer to one compatible with Zwift by getting the appropriate sensors.

How do these weekly club rides work?

Simply follow the invitation instructions above, and a few minutes before 6 pm on Tuesdays, sign into Zwift and select that you wish to attend my meetup. You will then be lined up in the starting area for the course. I will select different courses for each week, and we will ride for one hour. I will select the “everyone rides together” option, so this will be a virtual no-drop ride, regardless of your power output (as long as you continuously pedal). If you have less than an hour to ride, come anyway. You may stop at any time and the ride will not be affected.

If there is interest, I will set up a club Discord server so we can chat while we ride. Instructions will follow if applicable.

If you have any questions, please contact Paul at jpaulwede@yahoo.com. I hope to see you in the virtual world!!!
